Here at Fibrowatt we develop, build, and operate renewable energy power plants – using poultry litter as a primary fuel source. It’s a unique fuel that naturally “generates” a lot of attention and plenty of jokes. While we have been laughingly referred to as “poopologists” – Power from Poultry Litter™ is an approach to renewable energy that we take pretty seriously.

Since our sustainable solution for poultry litter management was first introduced over 20 years ago, there has been a lot of interest in our technology. Along with this interest, there have also been a lot of questions on how it works and the impact of these plants on the local community and the environment. While we try to maintain active community outreach programs, we understand that with more attention comes a need to respond to a wider audience. It is for this reason that we have introduced “The Straight Poop” as a means to provide accurate information and answer questions in a timely fashion.

The primary voice of “The Straight Poop” is Terry Walmsley, our Vice President of Environmental and Public Affairs. Terry has sixteen years of experience in environmental affairs, project development and fuel evaluation. His expertise and fascination with our unique fuel makes him our “Chief Poopologist” and uniquely qualifies him to serve as the key writer for this site.
