Sampson County Public Information Committee Formed
A number of individuals from local businesses and the general public in Sampson County have joined together as members of the FibroCoast Public Information Committee (PIC). This committee was formed to provide the residents of Sampson County and the general public near the plant site with a better understanding about the project. Much like the Fibrominn Citizen’s Advisory Panel in Benson, Minnesota, the Sampson County PIC plans to meet regularly during the development, permitting, construction, and operation of the plant.
Fibrowatt feels it’s important to establish a strong, two-way line of communication with the local community. When Fibrowatt was first offered this site by Sampson County, we were encouraged by the County to find ways like this to reach out to the community. We feel the Sampson County PIC will play an important role in sharing information about the project. Our goal is to raise awareness about the FibroCoast project and open up new lines of communication with the community. As the members of the PIC have said, they feel it is their responsibility to bring the questions to Fibrowatt and make sure the answers are provided and understood.
Sampson County is one of three North Carolina communities selected for a Fibrowatt plant.
